Reiki is a Japanese technique for energetic healing. It is a safe complementary therapy that promotes balance in the mind, body, and spirit. Reiki treatment is painless, non-manipulative, non-invasive, and does not interfere with medical treatments of any kind.
What happens in a Reiki session?
We start with a brief discussion to set an intention for your session.
You are fully clothed and lie down on a massage table. The practitioners hands can be placed on the body or above the chakra to transmit Reiki energy (Life Force Energy). Usually people feel calm and relaxed, even falling asleep during the session. At the end, there is always time to check in and discuss any experiences you had.

Before Your Session
Can Reiki help me?
Reiki is a simple, gentle, hands-on energy technique used for stress reduction and relaxation. To enhance the bodies ability to self heal complete relaxation is often beneficial. Reiki can complement any medical or psychological care you may be receiving. Reiki practitioners do not diagnose conditions nor prescribe or perform medical treatment, or interfere with the treatment of a licensed medical professional. Reiki does not take the place of medical care.
How will you feel?
Generally, most people feel relaxed and some fall asleep. You may experience a bit of restlessness as the energy moves through you.
Sometimes Reiki can create a “Healing opportunity” where the body adjusts to the energy it has received. It is temporary and may appear as a headache or symptom flare. You may feel tired or sleep more. Take the time to rest and allow your body space to adjust.
About the session
Dress comfortably for the session. You will remain clothed but will take your shoes off. You will lie on the massage table. Please let me know if you are more comfortable with a support under your knees
I will place my hands on you lightly or above the body in certain areas.
It is advisable to rest after your session and drink lots of water.
Please give at least 24 hours notice, if you need to cancel your session.

After Your Reiki Session
To ensure maximum benefit from the session it is advisable that you go home and relax afterwards.
What can you do to support your healing?
•Drinking lots of water can help the energy flush through your body.
•Avoid caffeine and alcohol
•Eat healthily
In addition to feeling relaxed and uplifted sometimes people might experience a “Healing opportunity” where the body adjusts to the energy it has received. It is temporary and may appear as headache, symptom flare, feeling emotional, minor flu like symptoms. These are positive signs that the body is bringing itself back into balance. We are all unique and your body will have its own experience of the Reiki.
You may feel tired or sleep more. Take the time to rest and allow your body space to adjust.
